Helping to brand a Cleveland-staple boutique bakery.

How Mc+Mc began to apply a new brand to an already very well established bakery in Ohio.

Design Challenge

Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes was established in Avon Lake, Ohio in 2014. The owner, Kelsey Shepard is classically trained and now runs 3 separate locations all based within the Ohio area. With the great success that KEC has had over the years, Kelsey wanted her branding and packaging to reflect that. Kelsey came to Mc+Mc with various packaging needs. It was very important that her delicate works of art stay intact when it came to boxing them up. Additionally, Kelsey also wanted a website refresh that needed to reflect the bright colors and playfulness of her bakery.

Solution

Mc+Mc provided various branding options and website options to Kelsey to make sure it was reflecting the look and feel she was envisioning—fun, playful, bright, but also refined and elevated. As far as the website was concerned, Mc+Mc proposed that KEC be moved onto the Shopify platform to get the most out of ordering for shipping and delivery. Because KEC has 3 separate locations and can only handle so many orders per day, the store needed to be set up in a way that allowed KEC to remain flexible with their kitchen and order demands. In the first month, KEC experienced 21.6K store sessions, and a sell-through rate of 70.2%.
